Galdr in the Old Texts

Have you ever wanted to see what the Eddas and sagas actually say about galdr?

The old sources give us glimpses of chants used for healing, protection, binding, and calling spirits. Odin’s eighteen charms describe how voice could steady ships, heal wounds, protect warriors, and even speak with the dead. The varðlokkur in Eiríks saga rauða shows us that song was essential to the völva’s rite. These are not modern inventions. They are pieces of a living practice recorded long ago.
In my teaching I take these fragments and make them usable today. I show you how each charm, each chant, and each hint of song fits into the larger picture of seiðr. We look at history honestly while also learning how to breathe life into the practice again.
This is part of my Galdr Collection on Patreon, where I share the old sources, personal reflections, and full chant libraries so you can build your own voice-work.
If you want to learn seiðr in a way that honors the sagas and still breathes in the present, join us on Patreon and begin.
