The body was never just meat and bone. It was the vessel of the soul’s journey.
Líkamr carried all the other soul-parts. It let the voice speak, the hands work, the feet carry you to where fate was waiting. It bore the marks of life. scars, calluses, the changes of age.
In Norse life, Líkamr was tended because it served. A weak body could dim the other soul-parts… but a well-cared-for one could make their work shine.

A völva knew the body’s needs, herbs for wounds, rest for recovery, and when to call the spirits because flesh alone could not mend.
Even now, Líkamr is where your soul meets the world. How you treat it is how you treat the whole of yourself.
